life

I have yet to read the new Hunger Games book, and I can't wait until I get a chance to go to a bookstore to buy it. No spoilers please!

On a completely unrelated note, It seems like my family has forgotten to eat as of late. I went downstairs and microwaved some dinner and my dad comes to my room and says "hey, something smells good. Did you cook?"

It's not that I expect my parents to cook for me or anything, I know that I am indeed a minor and usually people see that as an obligation, but I am perfectly able and can make a decent meal on my own.

Sometimes when someone say that they will cook, and then they don't so you end up eating at 9:30pm cause everyone forgot, is kind of ridiculous. Seriously, they had Coldstone smoothies for dinner at 5.

Oh yeah, my dad has diabetes and he had to eat so he bought sushi while I bought a birthday card for Miss Hannah ;)

Speaking of illnesses, we lost someone very special yesterday. She was an extraordinary girl who showed all us nerdfighters what it means to be brave. She was so, so brave. The world lost Esther Earl to cancer on August 26th, 2010.

It's so hard to believe that she's really not here anymore. She's with us in the sense that we will remember her, but the fact that she isn't alive is impossible for me to digest right now. It never seems real until it's already happened.

As Esther said, "I'm not always amazing, and I'm not always awesome, and I'm not always strong and I'm not always brave...and you guys should know that."

I think because she posted videos and talked to people, and made them smile was enough. We didn't expect her to be strong or brave all the time. We just wanted to be there with her and support her.

Not a lot of us knew her well at all, but we didn't have to. She was beautiful and she touched so many people. I think the way people will remember her for the rest of their lives is enough to keep her alive forever.

Rest in Awesome, Esther. We love you.
